Hello!
Greetings from my last night sleeping in my enviable Boston apartment. For those of you unfamiliar with my story, I have been consulting for the life sciences industry in Boston since graduating from Dartmouth College in 2008. I have officially left my job (woo funemployment!) and am taking the summer off before I move back to Hanover, NH, to pursue my MBA at the Tuck School of Business (hence the blog name). I have decided to start this blog in order to keep friends and family up to date on my current travels and activities, and to hopefully cultivate a few random stalkers.
Over the past month I've had absolute blasts at SF Bay to Breakers and Princeton Reunions. Since leaving my job on 5/31, I've essentially been packing up my life, with a few spatterings of farewell parties and random run ins mixed in for good measure. Many thanks to all of you who made it to my party at the Beacon Hill Pub last night - was truly a momentous send off. I'm going to miss Boston immensely, particularly the free seals.
Since I still have a wee bit of packing up to do, I will just provide a basic overview of my plans to date:
6/6 - drive from Boston home to Cumberland, MD
6/8-6/14 - Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN
6/15-6/18 - home in Cumberland
6/19 - Depart for SE Asia with Frank
6/21-6/25 - Siem Reap, Cambodia
6/26-6/30 - Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang, Laos
7/1-7/5 - Chiang Mai, Thailand & environs
7/6-7/7 - Bangkok, Thailand
7/8-7/10 - Ko Phangan, Thailand for the Half-Moon Party
7/11-7/13 - Ko Phi Phi and Phuket, Thailand
7/13-7/20 - At this point Frank will be departing and I have not yet solidified my plans prior to my 7/20 departing flight out of Bangkok. I am thinking about getting SCUBA certified in Ko Tao during this time, as well as head back to Ko Phangan for the Full Moon Party on July 17. I hope you're as excited as I am to figure out exactly how this plays out.
7/21-7/22 - Home, sweet Cumberland
7/23-7/27 - Family-time Delaware beach vaca with my 3 lovely nieces
7/28-8/26 - Plans generally up in the air. Potential goings on include the Newport Folk Festival (7/30-7/31), a weekend trip to San Francisco, perhaps to attend Outside Lands (8/12-8/14), and hopefully one of the Tuck Outward Bound sessions (sailing trip up the coast of Maine in August). Remaining time will be spent in some combination of Cumberland and Boston.
8/27 - Tuck Orientation begins
And like that I'm off. Wish me luck, and I'll try to remember to actually keep this going.
Huggles,
Sarah
